First of all, I updated my last two posts to include the answers and the "also rans", so if you didn't notice that, go and check out the lists and let me know where I am wrong (I am not wrong). Posted using TxtLJ
pout! only rain predicted on christmas day. No snow :-( Draupadi frustrates me no end. For the past four months she's become increasingly snuggly and cuddly, purring at the slightest provocation, rolling on to her back, nuzzling me at any opportunity, putting up with my kisses and hugs with good grace. She even quietly put up with my silly attempt to put a bow around her neck in order to make her look more like Alice's kitten from "Through the Looking Glass". Hmm. I love chocolate. I hate my mobile phone. Easy choice, really. -The Gneech HAPPY BIRTHDAY to The icon attached to this post is called "Tea & Sunshine", it's an important icon because I enjoy the 2 items in the title, it was taken in the kitchen of my home and it was taken at a time when I was lucky enough to have special people to my home. Our LJs are our virtual homes. And every day we invite people with a wide variety of tastes, interests and beliefs into our spaces and share our lives with them. And I tend to think that being both a host and a guest is a solemn and important thing. I just want to say, that it is a pleasure having you as a guest in my virtual home. I hope your day and coming year are filled with invitations to the best of things, and that you get to accept, embrace and enjoy each one. Be happy and be well. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! P.S. You rock quite awesomely dear lady. ...and before you make your way. What is your most remembered Christmas gift from childhood? For me, I have a few. My Evel Kneivel motocycle sets. I had 2 as well as his traveling van and I just loved revving them up and jumping Evel and his cycle over things. I still don't think they make toys as cool as that any more. Also, a long time ago, G.I. Joe was a single guy with a kung fu grip and not a highly secret anti-terrorism force. One of his allies was Bulletman: the Human Bullet and I got one for Christmas. I can still sing that little segment of the jingle. I also had a "Big Jim" action figure (Dr. Steel, the martial artist). One Christmas all I asked for was a tape recorder, it was just something I wanted to record my voice (I was somewhere between 6 and 8) and I have to say it was disturbing as I always thought I sounded like the voice I hear in my ears. Even then my voice was deep and I wondered who the hell was speaking the words or if something was wrong with the tape recorder. But one of the most important childhood gifts came when I was an adult. It my first Christmas with Lisa as her husband and she bought me a Hess truck. I mentioned in passing that I had Hess trucks every year growing up as a child and that it was a warm and positive memory for me. She bought me one for Christmas. It sits on the toy shelf in the basement and there are times I'm downstairs and I look at it and I can FEEL the smile cross my face. The Hess truck is great, but the memory is much more precious. You?
BTW, the “S” I sticking on the work laptop so there might be an occasional letter missing. I’m going to try and avoid using word with “S”, but anyone who watches “Wheel of Fortune” knows the deal with that.
